International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition

Recruiting for 2012 Teams

The 48th annual International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition will be held from February 7 to April 21, 2012. For a second year the competition is being hosted at CSU Long Beach.

The College of Business is currently soliciting teams from the Lucas School and the Sbona Honors Porgram. There will be two "open houses", the first on November 14th at Techmart, the second on-campus on November 21st, at which you can meet past competition winners who will share thier experiences.

Classes to prepare for the competition begin on December 10 with an all day hands-on session, at which you can get an insight into the planning and decision making involved in the simulation, and continue the second and third weeks in January. For more information contact Prof. Simon Rodan or Prof. Richard Okumoto.

SJSU’s Winning 2011 Teams

About the ICBSC

Since 1982, students from the College of Business at San José State University have competed in the annual International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition, an intercollegiate business simulation contest between American and other schools.

Our teams work from January through April to integrate and apply the principles learned in their coursework to make decisions with immediate implications. Participants learn important lessons in the operation decisions and trade-offs involved in running a business, involving teamwork, strategic planning and competitive intelligence. The competition provides a unique opportunity for undergraduates and graduates to learn and apply business skills. For more information, see:

Participation in the compeition earns course credit through registration in B294. Admission is by instructor consent.
