The team developed and implmented a plan for a series of wine preservation products: their “patented” inert gas injection system met the needs of consumers who do not complete a bottle of wine at one sitting. As with their competitors, they sought to obtain a consistent profit through a series of pricing and spending decisions for domestic and international operations over a period of 20 simulated quaters.

Vintage was competing against three teams from other CSU campuses: Fresno State, Sacramento State and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo — as well as Western Kentucky. Against these teams, the were awarded first runner up for overall team performance. Several (industry) judges told them “you are the team I’d most want to manage my business,” a testament to the consistent performance of the team over the five-year simulated period.
