Terms of the Cash Awards
While the goal of the SVBPC is to provide an impetus for entrepreneurship at SJSU and to recognize the writing of excellent business plans, we also want to foster the creation of new ventures. To this end, the disbursement of the cash prizes will be linked to the expenses of new venture formation. That is, we want the cash prizes to be used in starting the company for which the winning business plan was written, so while 25% of the awards will be paid at the time of the award, the remaining 75% of these awards will be paid as reimbursement for valid business start-up expenses.
