For most business students,
it should be vital--if not essential--for them to gain the "real
world" work experience to build a sense of what it takes to
prepare themselves for the future. Jobs and internships--in relations
to your emphasis of study--can help you clarify career goals,
gain professional contacts, improve interpersonal skills, and
ease the transition from college to career. It's
important to know that employers
are always looking for graduates who have some experience in
their major field. Students who choose not to do an internship
are having more trouble getting jobs out of college. Students
who go on the internship route are finding jobs easier, some
are getting hired straight out of their internship by that organization.
The Marketing Association
