Paul Bagan, BA '82
Owner, J. Paul Bagan & Associates Offering Dale Carnegie Training
Paul Bagan was raised in Bloomington, Minnesota and moved to San Jose, CA in 1976. He graduated from Gunderson High in 1977 and San Jose State University with a BA in Communication Studies in 1982. He has lived in the Almaden Valley of San Jose since 1984 and is married with two children, who both attend school in the San Jose Unified School District. Mrs. Bagan is a 7th grade teacher for San Jose Unified School Districtstrict. Paul is quite active in the community. He was a pass board member for Junior Achievement, an advisor to Leadership Sunnyvale, a pass member of Campbell Kawanis, and a contributor to West Valley College's Puente Program. Paul also volunteer's his time each year to the Almaden Wine and Arts Festival, which is an annual charity event that raises thousands of dollars each year for local schools and charities. In addition, he is a charter member of Success Builders International and the Greater San Jose Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, both are nonprofit organization designed for entrepreneurs and small business owners. He is currently a much in demand speaker, facilitator, business coach and trainer to many of the valley's top companies and professional organizations. Paul is a certified multiple course instructor-trainer; a distinction held by only 8% of all Dale Carnegie Instructors worldwide.

Senior Financial Reporting Analyst, NVIDIA Corporation
Carol DeChellisChellis was born and raised in the Bay Area. Recognizing the uniqueness of the Bay Area - cultural diversity, professional and social opportunities, wonderful landscapes and the terrific weather to take advantage of it all- she decided to stay close to home for college and her career. She graduated from San Jose State University in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, concentration in Accounting. Prior to this she earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from San Jose State University in 1995. She has over ten years of accounting and finance experience. She is currently employed as a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst responsible for internal and external financial reporting for NVIDIA Corporation at their headquarters in Santa Clara. NVIDIA Corporation is the worldwide leader in programmable graphics processor technologies. Carol previously worked at KPMG LLP in the Assurance practice in the Silicon Valley office as a Senior Auditor where she earned her C.P.A. License. The majority of her audit experience was formed by working with hi-technology software and hardware clients, both public and private. Her main clients included PeopleSoft, Hitachi Data Systems, InterVideo and SurfControl. Prior to joining KPMG she was employed as a Senior Accountant at Calpine Corp., headquartered in downtown San Jose. During her five years at Calpine, she worked in the corporate accounting group where she was responsible for full cycle accounting, and then became closely involved in the accounting and monthly management and funding for the Revolving Senior Security Secured Construction Credit Facilities for both Calpine Construction Finance Company I and II.
While she was in school, she participated in Beta Alpha Psi Fraternity, holding the position of Alumni Coordinator and earned the 2001 Beta Alpha Psi scholarship. Outside of work, Carol likes to donate blood to the Stanford Blood Center and volunteers in different ministries at Family Community Church. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, w working on projects around the house, cooking, traveling, and spending time outdoors walking, snowboarding and mountain biking.

Budget Analyst, NASA Ames Research Center
Cecilia began her career at NASA Ames Research Center in 1996 working as a secretary while going to Mission College. In 1997, she received her A.S. in Office Information Systems from Mission. In 1999, she took a wonderful job opportunity as a junior budget analyst in the Safety, Environmental, antal, and Mission Assurance Office. Since she was changing her career, she decided to go back to school and major in business administration with a concentration in finance. She did this part time while working full time. In 2002, Cecilia started working as a budget analyst in the Space Transportation Office, now called the Project Management Office. She received her B.S. from San Jose State in 2005. In both 2000 and 2004, Cecilia received a Contractor Excellence Award.
While going to San Jose State, Cecililia volunteered her spare time as part of the Core (Leadership) Group for the Queen of Apostles Young Adults.

Chairman, The Coakley-Heagerty Companies Advertising and Public Relations
Dave is a 40 plus year marketing communications veteran and Chairman of The Coakley-Heagerty Companies, Silicon Valley's oldest advertising and public relations firm, named sixth largest in The Business Journal's ranking of agencies for 2001. A 1950 Journalism graduate of San Jose San Jose State, he served as President of the National Alumni Association in 1957, the College's centennial year. Dave is a longtime Spartan Foundation supporter and active in numerous community projects and programs. Particularly proud of his 30 year plus Rotary service, Dave has been involved in Rotary at the club, district and international levels, and served as President of the downtown San Jose Rotary and then as the region's District Governor. He served on a number of community improvement boards.

Community Volunteer
Bill is retired from IBM. After leaving the Santa Teresa Software Development Laboratory in 1993, Bill became Applied Materials Santa Clara Regional Facilities Services Manager . In 1998 Bill began a 3 year role with Greater Bay Bancorp as Manager of Facilities Services and Real Estate. Bill is in his tenth year with Big Brothers Big Sisters Santa Clara Valley Board of Directors, where he was Chairman of the board for two consecutive terms. Bill is cuis currently Board of Directors President of Neighborhood Housing Services Silicon Valley; Treasurer of Board of Directors for Las Cumbres Conservation Corporation; Secretary of the Supervisory Committee for Meriwest Credit Union; and, on the Finance Committee for Cystic Fibrosis Research Institute . Bill has engaged in numerous community service activities, from Volunteer Firefighter to Lakeside School District Superintendent Selection Committee. Bill and his wife Vicci, who is also an SJSU grad, have been long time supporters of the Spartan Foundation. With their sons and daughters-in-law residing in Menlo Park and Burlingame, they immensely enjoy their grandchildren. Bill is on the COB Alumni Association Finance Committee.

Arthur has a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership, an MBA, and a BS in Business/Marketing with a Music Minor. He graduated from SJSU in 1992 as Outstanding Graduating Senior and attended programs at ams at BYU, UOP, Harvard, Oxford, and London Business School. Arthur serves as Corporate Secretary on the Board of Directors of Meriwest Credit Union, is President of ARC Leadership Group, and has been an IBM Senior Manager. He is an Eagle Scout and enjoys playing the violin.

Project Manager, NASA Ames Research Center
Sonia was born Mexico and moved to California in 1976. She began her NASA career at Ames Research Center in 1990 as a budget analyst. In 199 In 1995, she was named the Resources Executive for the Safety, Environmental, and Mission Assurance directorate. In 2000, while working full-time, Sonia graduated with her B.S. degree in business with a concentration in finance from San Jose State University. In 2001, she was selected for the NASA Ames' Full Time Graduate Studies program. Sonia completed her MBA in August 2002 from San Jose State University's MBA-One program. Since 2002, she has been a project manager with the Space Transportation Projects Office. While attending San Jose State University, as an undergraduate, Sonia was the Treasurer for the Financial Management Association and volunteered her time in the classroom. As an active member of the community, Sonia mentors young Hispanic women at Evergreen Valley College, is currently the Vice President of the Events Committee for the College of Business Alumni Association. Sonia is excited about continuing the board's effort of building a network of current and future alumni and encouraging the community's awareness and support of the College of Business.

Controller, Hewlett-Packard Management Software Business
Brad is a 1978 graduate from San Jose State University and holds Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, concentration in Accounting. He has managed Hewlett-Packard's San Jose State business recruiting and campus relationship activities for over twelve years. Brad's work has resulted in more SJSU students being hired into HP than from any om any other college in the United States. SJSU continues to be a large benefactor of equipment, cash and executive time contributions because of Brad's ongoing sponsorship. Brad is currently President of the SJSU Accounting and Finance Roundtable where he is helping to lead the creation of SJSU's Silicon Valley Financial Management Institute. He also serves on the SJSU School of Business - Dean's International Board of Advisors. Brad's career at Hewlett Packard has spanned 31 years and he is currently the chief financial executive for their Open View Software Business Unit. Prior to his current position, Brad held Controller positions in a broad range of HP business operations which included Internet Business Unit, IC Semiconductor business, Systems Technology Group, Mid-range Commercial Systems business, and System Peripheral and Mass Storage operation. Prior to becoming a controller, Brad held a series of increasingly senior financial management roles throughout Hewlett Packard's Computer, Test and Measurement businesses. Brad and his wife, Marcia, have been married for thirty-one years and have two sons, Brian 22, and Steven 26. They reside in Los Altos where they are active in community sports and theatre programs.

Certified Public Accountant Compliance Manager, Calpine Corporation
Robin is a 2001 graduate from San Jose State University and holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting. She has over twelve years of accrs of accounting experience that includes financial statement preparation, audit, review, and tax compliance services for individuals, partnerships, and corporate clients. For Calpine Corporation, Robin works as Compliance Manager in Internal Audit group overseeing compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act. Prior to working in industry Robin worked in public accounting for both Grant Thornton and Deloitte & Touché in San Jose providing tax and assurance services to individuals, corporations and partnerships.
While attending SJSU Robin was the recipient of the Beta Alpha Psi Scholarship Award for 2000 and 2001, the 2000 Financial Executives International Scholarship Award, the 2001 Diridon Family Leadership Scholarship Award, and the 2001 Associated Students Award. Robin has been very active in recruiting at SJSU and is a lifetime member of Beta Alpha Psi Fraternity and Golden Key Honors Society.
As an active member of the community, Robin has taught "The Economics of Staying In School" to teens in San Jos Jose through Junior Achievement of Santa Clara County and has worked with the Internal Revenue Service to prepare tax returns for low-income individuals through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Robin most recently participated in Red Cross disaster relief training to volunteer her time helping victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Robin resides in Los Gatos with her family where she is active in her sons Performing Arts, Football, and Rugby programs.

Accounting and Audit Team, Berger Lewis
Dan Moors, Principal and Head of the Accounting and Audit Department at BERGER/LEWIS, combines his passion for accounting with his focus on nonprofit organizations, service and construction companies, as well as, early stage start-up and high-tech industry-related companies.
Although Dan leads BERGER/LEWIS' Accounting and Audit Team, he also provides expertise in several areas which include: temporary controllership responsibilities for start-up companies; financial presentations for Audit Committees, Finance Committees and Boards of Directors; and cost-effective management recommendations and understanding of best practices in the nonprofit arena to strengthen internal controls and streamline accounting systems. Dan also leads BERGER/LEWIS as Director of Quality Control and Review.
Dan's real world accounting skills were developed during his four years of experience in the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District as senior accountant, after graduating from San Jose State University . He has been in public accounting for twelve years. Dan exemplifies the qualities our clients demand in our firm's leaders.
