Friday Night - Decisions and IF Functions

It’s 4:00 pm. on Friday, you just got paid, and you are leaving work. On the way home you will make some stops. First you stop at the bank where you cash your check.

How much money do you have? ______  

 

You continue driving. You see a fake ID place.

Are you over 20? _____ Do you stop to buy a fake ID? ____

What did it cost?  _____ How much cash do you have left?  ______

 

You continue driving. You see a tattoo parlor. You need to be over 20 to buy a tattoo. Are you over 20? _____  If not, do you have a fake ID? _____ Do you stop to buy a tattoo?  ___ What did it cost?  _____ How much cash do you have now?  ____

 

You continue driving. You see a bar advertising Happy Hour, 2 drinks for the price of 1. You need to be over 20 to drink in this state.

Are you over 20? _____  If not, do you have a fake ID? _____ Do you stop to buy drinks? ____ How much does one drink cost?  _____ How many did you drink? _____

How much did you spend? ____  How much cash do you have left?  ____

 

In the bar you meet an attractive stranger. (You’ve both had a few drinks.)

Does the stranger like tattoos? ____ Do you have a tattoo? ____ Do you have chemistry? ___

The stranger asks you to go to dinner at an expensive restaurant.  Unfortunately, you do not own a credit card.  How much do you think the dinner will cost? _____ Do you have enough cash to afford dinner?  ____ Do you get a phone number or do you leave with the stranger? ______

 

You continue on your way home. You are starting to worry. It’s getting late and you still need to study for that big exam. The stoplight in front of you turns yellow. Do you run the light just as it turns red? _____

 

A cop on a motorcycle is parked alongside the road. He sees you and begins to follow your car.

 How fast are you driving? ______  The speed limit is 35 miles per hour.

How many drinks did you have? _____ The legal limit is two drinks.

The cop thinks you are drunk and signals you to pull over.  Do you try to get away? ____ 

 

The cop succeeds in pulling you over. If you were speeding, you will be ticketed. If you ran the stoplight you will be ticketed. If you tried to get away you will be ticketed. If you had more than two drinks you will be ticketed. How many tickets did you get? _____

 

What time is it when you finally get home? _____ You have an exam coming up and you need to study for it, but you are hungry and there is a TV show you want to watch. How much time do you spend studying? ______ If you spend less than two hours studying, you could fail the exam.
