Mission Statement: To capitalize on our geographic location and provide an off-campus educational experience to students at San Jose State University.
Purpose: Schedule company visits/tours of the local and creditable companies so that we can see, first hand, the true business of these organizations. This will allow us to acquire such knowledge as: the company history, operational structure, company direction, new product development, current trends, research and development, the manufacturing process, distribution process, career opportunities, etc. One of the most valuable aspects of this program is our question and answer sessions. Often, students learn best through direct communication. This will give us the ideal chance to ask questions that we would not be able to ask in the classroom. Also, this is a great networking opportunity for the students. In business, it is all about networking and who you know. This would give the students a great opportunity to get their foot in the door.
NOTE: We will be visiting a different company each visit over the course of the academic year. Company tours will be based on the company. Not all visits will entail a tour of their facilities.
