You are on your way to receiving your college degree and you have a variety of school and work experiences, but are your social skills at the highest level?  Would others refer to your manners as polished, courteous and appropriate?  How will you represent yourself to the recruiter? And in the future, how will your clients, prospects, staff and colleagues describe your style of dealing with others?  How do your peers and professors see you right now?

In just a few hours, this seminar will help position you to have a competitive advantage in many arenas of life.  It will enhance your self-confidence and make others feel more comfortable when they are with you.

Personal and Professional Polish includes:

  • business etiquette and essential information about living and working as a professional
  • the written and unwritten rules regarding first meetings with others; networking; eating; hosting, and being a guest
  • the art of introductions, small talk, and how to enter and exit a conversation;
  • the don’ts of e-mail and texting
  • double standards in communication; non-verbal messages;
  • the correct use of the business card
  • and a glimpse at international protocol’s influence on your behavior.

Since many initial connections in business happen at networking events/receptions or informally when you aren’t expecting it, the seminar includes a reception to practice what you learned earlier in the program.
