About me:
Dominie Garcia, PhD, is an
Assistant Professor in the College of Business at San Jose State University.
Her research is focused on large-scale organizational change and transformation;
and the nature and impact of bicultural individuals in organizational contexts.
She conducts field-based research that measures several variables that relate
to both change and biculturalism, trying to expand the knowledge base for both
academics and management practitioners.
Dominie builds
on several years of industry experience, including working with the Vice Chairman
of AOL during the AOL Time Warner merger, and co-founding an organization focused
on matching high-growth potential start-ups led by minority entrepreneurs with
venture capital and equity financing, to investigate current organizational
phenomena. She holds degrees from Vassar College (BA-Economics), Babson College
(MBA, magna cum laude), and Georgia Institute of Technology (PhD in Industrial
and Systems Engineering).
