TIM HILL:
BS and MS in Industrial Engineering (Purdue). PhD from Indiana University (1988). Joined the faculty at University of Hawaii for several years. Left academia early in the Web revolution, to live in San Francisco, producing/developing commercial web sites and interactive lifelong learning products used worldwide. Returned to academia full time in 1998 at SJSU.
Lately teaching Info Security. Always experimenting with emerging learning technologies–interactive simulations, podcasting, multimedia document annotation, etc. Also tinkering with alternative, learner-based pedagogy.
Always interested in innovative applications of emerging technology. Research interests have evolved across artificial intelligence, neural networks, and graphic visualization & manipulation, etc. in the past. More recently, multi-layered media, digital identities, reality distortions and social impacts.
