Congratulations to the Teams and thanks to the Judges.

The Judges were very impressed with the quality of the research and presentation and commended the hard work of the teams. They will provide feedback to each team to complete this learning exercise. The Judges have conferred and decided on the results of the competition:

Purpose

To promote education about standardization among universities. Provides an opportunity to make students aware of the issues surrounding standardization and sustainability from corporate strategy, industry, regional, and international perspectives. Creates a forum for discussion among students, academics and practitioners to build a community of learners.

The International Case Study Competition

The International Case Study Competition will be held via the Internet in May 2011. Applications from University Contestant Teams from around the world are now accepted until April 15th, 2011. Each team must have a faculty advisor and could be made up of 3 to 5 undergraduate and/or graduate students from any discipline enrolled at the university. For 2011, a limited number of Teams from each geographical region (Americas, Europe/Africa, Asia) will be accepted into the competition.

Competition Rules and Procedures

The Contestant Teams will be provided with the written Case, analysis questions, and evaluation criteria two weeks before the competition. Teams could send in questions and receive answers and clarifications posted online. The Teams will be asked to analyze the Case Study based on the theme and a set of questions. The Organizer will arrange for the Teams to present their analysis and recommendations to a panel of international Judges via web-based teleconference. The presentations will be evaluated by the Judges based on the provided criteria.

The Competition will be conducted in English:

  1. The presentation schedule for the Teams during the week of May 2-6, 2011, will be announced before the competition.
  2. Teams will turn in their analysis and presentation 12 hours before their scheduled presentation.
  3. The presentation to the Judging panel will be by web-based teleconferencing (25 minutes).
  4. Followed by a Question & Answer session with the Judges (10-15 minutes).
  5. The Judges will deliberate and announce the winners 24 hours after the last presentation.

Prizes

First Place: US$2000, Second Place: US$1000, Third Place: US$1000.

All prizes will be sent to the Universities of the winning teams for disbursement.
