Professor Edmund Lam is the IS Security Manager for a Fortune 500 firm. He is in charge of managing the firewall and the security practices in the company. He has more than 15 years of experience in security and Information Technology Audits and more than 10 years of experience in finance, operation, and information system auditing management. He specializes in Network Security, Electronic Commerce, Information Technology audit of Window 2000, UNIX, Linux, and telephone system billing. He has presented seminars, including auditing Window NT and UNIX platforms, Physical Security, Wireless Application Security (WAP), Year 2000 Remediation projects, the integrated audit approach, Total System Development process, and the integration of Cellular technology with regular voice systems. He was the Security Director for NextCard.com in San Francisco, responsible for all physical, logical, Internet, and overall security functions at the Bank. Prior to that, he was with the University of California – Office of the President, responsible for the IT audit relationship among all campuses, laboratories, and medical centers. He was also responsible for managing the external IT Audit relationship for the UC system and including serving as the Y2K Remediation Project audit manager. Additionally, he manages the IT audits at the UC -- Office of the President environment. Before joining the University of California system, he had four years of information systems audit experience in the banking industry. He also managed finance and operation audits and was a project Manager for AT&T. Mr. Lam currently teaches Accounting Information Systems courses, as well as, Windows 2000, UNIX, and Network Security at San Francisco State and San Jose State Universities. Edmund Lam, MBA, BSEE, CISSP, SSCP, CISM, CISA, CBCP, SCSA Solaris 9 Level 1, Comptia Linux+, and P.E., was the past president of the San Francisco Chapter of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and spearheaded the implementation of IT Audit curriculum at San Francisco State University and San Jose State University. He is also an active member of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), and Business Recovery Management Association (BRMA). Strong-Back LLC security consulting firm. Prior to this, he was the Manager of TRM practices in San Jose for Grant
Thornton. He has more than 10 years of experience in technology project
management and more than 10 years of experience in finance, operation, and
information system auditing management. He specializes in Network Security,
