My experience has lead me to believe that students learn best when they are:
Engaged
Challenged, and
Having fun, while learning things which have a
Practical Application in their lives.
During the creation of my courses, I have kept this in mind, as well as some assumptions I have regarding skills necessary for successful careers in business.
The Most Important Skill in business is Communication!
Unfortunately, communication is often one of students' weakest skills, and one most under-developed.
Fortunately, I believe that business communication is a Common-Sense Skill.
In addition, business communication is a Learned Skill, and while some people are naturally better at it than others, everyone can make improvements. As a result, the more you communicate in a business setting the better you will become at it.
Therefore, my classes are designed to engage you, the student, in fun activities which will allow you an opportunity to practice your business communication skills (both oral and written) in settings similar to what you will find in the contemporary business world.
Students most successful in my classes:
Attend Class regularly,
are Diligent about their assignments,
Demonstrate Learning, and
Utilize Critical-Thinking skills on every assignment.
