Welcome to Carol Reade's Home Page Dr. Carol Reade teaches courses in international business and management in the College of Business. A Bay Area native, Carol has lived abroad for more than 20 years, mainly in Asia. She has firsthand experience as a manager, consultant and academic in diverse cultural settings, including Japan, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. Carol received her doctorate from the London School of Economics. Her research interests include cross-cultural motivation, cooperation, and conflict resolution among managers in multinational enterprises. She has published in the International Journal of Human Resource Management and the Journal of Managerial Psychology. Carol's international experience is reflected in her classroom teaching. Her analysis of international business and management has been enriched by her work at the Tokyo head office of the Bank of Tokyo (now BOT-Mitsubishi), and through consultancies and training. She has trained managers from such global companies as IBM, Unilever, Coca-Cola, Liz Claiborne, United Airlines, and the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation. Carol has also consulted with the American Chamber of Commerce, The Asia Foundation, the Government of Sri Lanka, the Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank. Contact Information
