The Spartan Investors is a student investing club at San Jose State University. Our purpose is to give members real world investing experience by letting them create and manage a portfolio of stocks by putting their classroom skills to work. Weekly stock pitches, discussion on current business and economic affairs and prominent speakers from the investment community makes Spartan Investors a perfect choice for those who want to pursue a career in the investment field. |
Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity has over 230 college and alumni chapters with more than 170,000 members. It remains the oldest, largest, and most successful Professional Business Fraternity in the world. |
Beta Alpha Psi is a national scholastic and professional accounting fraternity. The primary objective of the fraternity is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the field of accounting. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting; providing opportunities for self development and association among members and practicing accountants, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility. |
The Entrepreneurial Society of San Jose State University is a professional student organization dedicated to shaping today's students into tomorrow's entrepreneurs. By conducting workshops which include outstanding guest speakers and/or panel discussions, students will have the opportunity to hear from CEOs, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and visionaries about the obstacles and opportunities that await them in the changing landscape of current businesses in Silicon Valley. Our network of Professionals, Faulty, Staff and Students has great value and has opened up doors for many of our members and has proven to be vital to the success of our organization. |
Information Systems Audit and Control Association acts as a medium through which the SJSU ISACA members can have interactions with IT/IS audit professionals, and become familiar and involved with IT and IS industry employers. SJSU ISACA wants to stimulate interests and promote academic excellence in the IT/IS audit field. More specifically, to provide information and guidelines for the certification examinations. |
The mission of the Management
Informations Systems Club is to make its members more eligible for employment
through increasing the knowledge base of the students and the opportunities
to encounter industry representatives who hire MIS graduates. This will
be accomplished by providing opportunities for students to network and socialize
with other students, faculty, and industry representatives in MIS. |
Accounting Majors - learn more about opportunities in corporate accounting, as well as government and non-profit by joining the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) SJSU Student Chapter . The IMA chapter at SJSU meets monthly for a presentation by a professional on a technical subject matter. Opportunities exist to interact with professionals and fellow students, apply for scholarships, learn about career opportunities, and assume a leadership role. Open to all accounting majors who are taking at least 6 units; dues are $26 and includes a subscription to Management Accounting. SJSU Student Chapter of IMA was awarded the Bronze Award of Excellence for the 2000-2001 academic year by the national IMA organization. |

The Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM) is a professional organization dedicated to the advancement of the discipline of management across all occupations. The SAM at San Jose State University, is designed to promote professionalism and practical education to the students interested in management. While educating the students that management is not just a business skill, but a skill for life. SAM is an organization for all fields who are interested in management. Membership will not be limited to business management majors. |

Human Resource Management (SHRM) of San Jose State University
will strive to facilitate opportunities for career growth and enhancement
in the field of human resource management for all organizational members
and other students who share similar interests. "Our
mission is to be a bridge between academic and real HR world by providing
networking, job/internship, and leadership opportunities to SJSU students
who share passion for HR. We strive to provide students with a competitive

The Financial Management Association makes Finance fun, real, and exciting by linking student members' technical classroom skills with guest speakers' business-world experiences, thus encouraging student interaction. The opportunity for members to enhance managerial, interpersonal, and social skills is furthered by using both formal and informal activities. FMA provides specific, focused information about career paths within the broad discipline of Finance by providing speakers who share personal experiences supplementing classroom learning and by encouraging alumni participation. |
