New Courses

Bus 196: Entrepreneurship Lab

Would you like hands-on experience with a start-up?

This hands-on class allows students to apply the knowledge they’ve gained in entrepreneurship and other business courses to address real-life problems in startup ventures. The opportunity work with a real business, hands-on experience, and small class size make this a unique course in our Entrepreneurship program. See the flyer for more information.

Admission is by permission of the instructor, Prof. Steve Bennet. To apply for this course, please complete the application form and e-mail the application to Prof. Bennet. Priority is given to early applications.

Bus 196S: Green Entrepreneurship

As part of Bus 196S (Special Topics in Entrepreneurship), SVCE director Dr. Anu Basu will be offering SJSU’s first ever course in Green Entrepreneurship.

This course addresses various aspects of environmentally sustainable entrepreneurship and the opportunities available to start-ups and large businesses to establish sustainable enterprises in the global environment. It explores the opportunities that entrepreneurs create or spot, the challenges they encounter, and the ways in which they exploit opportunities to contribute toward enhancing the long-term ecological system while simultaneously starting and sustaining a profitable business. This course also examines the role of government policy, private investor preferences, technological advances, and public opinion, in affecting the economics of Green entrepreneurship.

Prerequisite is Bus 181 (Introduction to Entrepreneurship) or approval of the instructor.

The Lucas Graduate School of Business offers three MBA courses in entrepreneurship. These are the courses being offered during 2008-2009:
