"SJ
State fosters image as 'other' incubator for entrepreneurs" (By Michael

Stanford University may hold the reputation as the
local start-up factory, but don't rule out the entrepreneurship of students
at other area universities.
If they ever get off the ground, three local businesses would be able to
trace their roots back to San Jose State University and an entrepreneurship
contest the university held last week.
The university's Center for Entrepreneurship handed $15,000 worth of prizes
to the teams of students whose business plans were deemed most worthy by
a panel of local business experts.
Winner of the competition was a four-person team -- two husband-and-wife
couples -- who hope to open an indoor soccer complex somewhere in Silicon
Valley.
They walked away with $10,000 and a big confidence boost.
``This will go a long way,'' said Bruce Yost, one of the team members. ``It's
a big shot in the arm for someone at this stage.''
