College of Business Certificate in Entrepreneurship
The inter-disciplinary Certificate in Entrepreneurship (EC) requires students
to take four entrepreneurship courses, at least two of which will be taken as electives
towards their concentration and the remaining taken as general upper division electives.
These have to be ANY FOUR of the following courses:
- Bus 181 Introduction to Entrepreneurship
- Bus 182 Business Plans for New Ventures
- Bus 183 Global Entrepreneurship
- Bus 131D New Venture Marketing
- Bus 173C Small Business Finance
- Bus 196 Entrepreneurship Lab
These courses provide a basic foundation in Entrepreneurship and are thus
required for the Entrepreneurship certificate. However, students may petition to replace
one of these courses with evidence of an internship they have undertaken for at least one semester
during the previous 12 months at a start-up company. The evidence required would
be a one-page report on the name, address, and business of the company, the dates of the internship, and
the nature of the work
undertaken and the name and address of the individual.
