PROFESSIONAL/CONSULTING EXPERIENCE
Designed and conducted for many years a wide range of management training seminars throughout the Bay Area, including seminars in:
- Marketing Management
- Communication and Motivation
- Management Skills for New Managers
- Time Management
- Negotiation Skills
Clients included: Center for Organization and Management Development, San Jose State University, Burger King Corporation, San Jose Mercury News, Mervyn's and others.
Provided consulting assistance for small businesses through San Jose State University in cooperation with the Small Business Administration.
Conducted various consulting projects for local companies, the State of California and local governmental organizations.
Serve on the Board of Directors of AbleProject, a 501 Non-Profit organization.
In addition to serving on the AbleProject Board, I also support this organization on a continuing basis as a Marketing Consultant. This started during the fall of 2003 with the completion of a Marketing plan and has continued in various marketing areas such as New Product Development, Test Marketing, Strategy development, Promotion, Pricing, and others marketing/business issues.
I was a team member on the following California State projects:
(1) Training Program Development Project, Department of Automotive Affairs
(Project Director, Prof. Burton Dean).
(2) Taguchi Software Development Project, State Department of Commerce.
(Project Director, Prof. Burton Dean).
I served on the Board of Directors and as an active consultant with Deliverex Service Centers, a local franchisor of medical record storage systems with franchisees in many large cities throughout the U.S.
I also served as marketing director of Alamo Publishing Company; a firm specializing in the distribution of computer based educational materials.
I have been an expert witness in various court cases for the law firms of Gaston, Snow & Ely Barlett, Coudert Brothers, Alexander & Bohn and others.
RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS
Developed and published a wide variety of overhead transparency based teaching modules which have been distributed throughout the U.S. Titles include:

Conducted a one-year visitor study for The San Francisco Office of Tourism/Visitor Services in cooperation with Prof. Herbert Oestreich. We received the “Silver Cable Car Award” for this project.
Developed a visitor study model for the State of California , Office of Visitor Services titled:
A Local Visitor Impact Model.
Conducted a yearlong visitor study for the cities of Santa Clara and Sunnyvale . The final report, titled Santa Clara and Sunnyvale Visitor Industry Study , was published in June 1987.
I also conducted a visitor study for the San Jose Convention/Visitors Bureau. The report, titled The San Jose Visitor Industry: 1985-1987 was published by the San Jose Convention/Visitors Bureau in May 1988.
Completed, with Professor Herbert Oestreich, a one-year economic impact study for the Santa Clara Convention Center .
