Fall 2009: Business 189
Strategic Management
Last modified
August 25, 2009
Prof. West is teaching two sections of Bus3 189, which meet on Mon/Wed mornings.
Many students want to add the class. According to department policy, Bus 189 is intended only for students in their final semester at SJSU. Also, in Fall 2009 no students will be added to a full section of Bus 189 until the empty sections fill up.
Priority will be given to students who can prove they have achieved “Graduating Senior Status.” Please bring the “Course Add Verification Form” from BSAC showing “Graduating Senior Status,” and make sure the form indicates whether you have passed the WST, whether you have completed 100W or if you are currently taking 100W.
Students will be added in the following priority.
There are two sections.
To save money and resources, no printed greensheet will be provided. A preliminary greensheet is available online, with the final syllabus provided to students via Blackboard.

The
required textbook is Charles W.L. Hill and Gareth R. Jones, Strategic
Management: An Integrated Approach, 7th
ed., available from the Spartan Bookstore. (Same textbook as Section 6).
The ISBN is 0618641629.
You want the big thick book with cases in the back, not the thinner book without the cases. You don’t need the CD, so a used version (say from an online bookstore) is perfectly fine.
